New dog, Suggestions?

Hello everyone, my family and I have decided to get a puppy. Have two young kids and am worried about the kind of dog to get. I really like Labs but they are a little big for my small backyard and would feel terrible if they didn't have adequate room. Any suggestions? Heres a lovely guilty dog/ funny dog video for your help! -enjoy

Go for Lab

Lab would be my first choice

I have a Canus montanus, they are big, but good with children. Malybe Pug? They are small.

LOVE labs - and Goldens. The down side to both is that they dig. However, if you adopt, you can get a mix of a lab or a golden and you might get a smaller dog with all the benefits!

Labradors are awesome but if you are worried about their big size then get a Beagle instead. It is smaller and more playful. Your kids will enjoy its presence.

You can try a lab mix instead. Schnoodles and bulldogs are also pretty good with kids.

Toller (Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever)
Kromi (kromfohrlander)
Beagle
Shelter mix
Havanese
...
For better sugestions we need more info (energy level, prefered size, grooming...)

As far as I know dogs are not capable of being guilty...
