Beagle training

We have a beagle, he is about 18 months and it can be very stressful at times. He is very dependant on my girlfriend, follows her everywhere she goes in the house. Some nights he will howl and scrap for about an hour when we go to bed. If I'm not there he will pee and poo inside when alone with my girlfriend. any ideas or help will be appreciated.

How long have you had him? Is he crated? Is your girlfriend coddling him...feeling sorry for him? If crated what is in the kennel with him? Where is his kennel?

I have a 9month old beagle! She's a lovely dog! Training was so bad. The hardest part for me is off the lead! She's got a good nose! Doesn't run far away but when calling back she thinks its a game and Dodges past my last sec! Anyone got any suggestion on helping on recall to her lead?
