101 Dog Tricks - Kyra Sundance
By far my favorite dog tricks book I have found. It's really easy reading, she uses very positive methods, upbeat, has pictures, troubleshooting & what to expect info, a difficulty rating system, an easy to understand intro talking about the basics...I have mentioned it before in other threads so I just thought I would give it it's own in this section 5 stars hehe
Casey, a Border Collie x Greyhound and my rescue from the SPCA, loves 101 Dog Tricks!! =) So far he knows (aside from standard obedience) shake paw (left and right), high five (left and right), high-ten, take it, balance and - almost - catch (tehehe), sit pretty, speak, roll over, play dead, push-ups, act ashamed, crawl, spin, wave, food refusal and take a bow. Next we're working on cover your eyes and kisses. He is too big and lanky for peek-a-boo and leg weaving...my other faves! But I might try jumping through my arms...should be interesting!
Not to mention she seems like an incredible lady!

I've looked into buying this one but I'm not sure if it wouldn't just become something else to take up room on the bookshelf... I haven't really taught many tricks because I am very lazy... lol.

I love tricks - they're great for entertaining my little brother! He ADORES making a gun of his hand and pointing to to Freddy, who, when you say 'Put 'em up!' will sit on his haunches and put both paws flat and UP next to his face! I gotta get a picture, lol!

haha! or video is even better!
i am not sure if i shared a play dead video of casey here or not but i make a gun with my hand as well and say "bang bang" and he throws himself over tehehehe. it's always everyone's favorite...especially children but my personal fave is take a bow (probably because this was the hardest to teach him so far...for whatever reason!)
