What is your dog's name #2

My second dog name was hard to choose, while I was thinking about a name I saw a car approaching my house it was Volkswagen, on the back of the car I read " Jetta". The car drove slow to it way but in my mind I was repeating this word Jetta" Finally I said I got it! Did you?

We're currently brainstorming names for our next baby. We won't get her until at least January, but it helped us when it came to picking out our Aussie's name to have a list of possibilities. We've decided on a French Bulldog, and Lola is at the top of the list! It's from the song "What Lola Wants" from the musical Damn Yankees. Other possibilities are Mia, Maggie, Maddie(short for Madeline...my daughter's favorite sassy French heroine!), and Addy(short for Adele).

My Lola was thought to be a boy so she was a musical name too - the kinks Lola - and my vets thought I came up with stripper names for my girls (had a cat called Cleo then) so I stuck with my own musical theme and the stripper one when I picked Roxy for my puppy - although she was almost Ruby.

HAHAHAHA! As if your vet actually said that to you!! Oh man, I find that hilarious. I guess you never have to wonder about what he's thinking!

It was a woman actually and we were taking the p*** out of my boy cat who is Austin after the car manufaturers - which he chose. And she just said well to be fair your girls sound like strippers. I have a good relationship with my vets though.

Shayne was the second of the dogs I named. I like to give my female pups androgynous names and when i got my border collie mix, I had a short list and then waited for her to show me which one would fit.

I first heard the name Shayne for a girl on a tv show and I really liked it. It fit her well so we stuck with it.

Rio was a lot harder to name. (i know i know he's the 3rd dog). I wanted a name with a meaning. I was a marine brat as a kid and started to think of military names. I thought of the R.I.O and it fit perfectly. RIO's (radar intercept officer) are the officers that sit in the jump seat of fighter jets. They were integral in the safety of the missions but were not at the helm. That's very much so a representation of what my relationship with my dogs is like. Although I'm at the helm, i absolutely take my dogs wants/likes/desires into account in our journey together.

My sister live in Egypt, and found Boone under her husband's car one morning when he was about six weeks old. He was bravely barking as hard as he could at the scary world out there. She fed him for a couple of days, thinking his mom would come looking for him but she never showed, so my sister kept him. She was looking through an Egyptian names site and came to Boone, with this definition: "An excellent hunter and able to live off the land, but feed me anyway." It just seemed to fit.
