Hi everyone.
I have a silky terrier whom I've named Alfie; he is named after someone I loved and still love with all my heart but left this world a long time ago. I will have to say that Alfie's personality is like having 12lbs of terror living with me. He is aggressive in a friendly sort of way and the groomers all run when they "hear" him coming through the doors. He is very smart and house training was easy, it's just that he is super hyper when we go for walks, constantly pulling. I dread seeing other doggies because Alfie has to bark the loudest and screech the loudest and never mind me stopping to speak to someone, he goes bonkers. I love my baby very much but he gets me upset when he does not listen, and that is very often. Obedience training is not an option and his vet told me that if he was neutered/spayed, his personality would change and he would calm down. My biggest mistake was listening to the vet because I have not seen any change in Alfie. Futhermore, I will never have any offspring from him. I know that terriers have a personality all their own that is not noticeable until they are a few months older. Any suggestions on how to tame Alfie, please?
