When it comes to bio spot medicines, I'd stick with Frontline or Advantage products. Some of the bio spot meds out there are more dangerous than helpful to your dog. There are good deals, but you get what you pay for also.

I did not see any Frontline and that is what I use for Ava.

I do see the Frontline. But I have to say those dog toys that are a boot, sneaker and mary janes are adorable. I love the makeup toys to LOL. Their is a cute lipstick and high heel that cracks me up.

I have not heard any reports of bio spot causing harm to dogs or cats. can you provide a link/source of this claim? I did some researching and the only claims or mention of this was from 4 years ago but if you are aware of something more recent please let me know. the reason I am even looking at bio spot was because it kills and repels adult fleas as well as eggs and larvae, and also kills & repels mosquitos which in my area is a must. none of the other products listed offer the protection/prevention mentioned.
please advise..thanks

Here's 1 site I found on it just by Googling. http://www.elversonpuzzle.com/biospot.html
I have heard bad reports on Hartz and Sergeants though. I use Frontline Plus on Luke. They haven't banned the cheap bio spot meds for being dangerous. I won't use them though. I feel sorry for any dog that does get treated with them. But, what can ya do? Good luck.

yeah that's the link i was referring to and it's dated july 14th, 2002. i'm assuming as widely as it's sold and used they have addressed the issue but who knows for sure..I've only read positive reviews from people who have used it from 2005 to present on different sites.

I use Bio-Spot on my dogs. I've been using it now for two years. And it really works. And please don't feel sorry for my dogs.

I, too, have used bio-spot, found it to be effective, and experienced no adverse results. I've also used Advantage, but avoided Hartz due to word-of-mouth type of information....Pesticides are dangerous, but so are the parasites that they treat and prevent. I had a dog, for instance, that got tapeworms from fleas. I was horrified, but of course there was a pill from the vet to treat that and it happened to be bio-spot (along with vigilant house-cleaning) that took care of the fleas....
I only visited Dog.com briefly but really enjoyed the Trivia section, including the History, Entertainment, and especially the Name That Breed pages.
Sitstay.com is another fun source for dog products. My aunt sent me a really nice gift package from this site. They also have a discussion board that I'm not that familiar with but upon which I happened to find the afore-mentioned link to the bio-spot warning article.
