Anyone Add Cottage Cheese To Their Puppies Diet? Heard It Adds Extra Calcium To Make Strong Bones. And The Amount To Give? Any One Have Any Advice Or Opions On This And The Value Of Adding It Or Not?? Thanks =)

When I worked for my breeder friend we added cottage cheese for pregnant/lactating females, and only a couple of spoonfulls stirred in with the food. I don't think it's necessary for a dog that doesn't have special calcium needs, and if you feed a pretty good balanced food he's probably getting enough as it is. I dunno, anyone else use cottage cheese?

I don't include it in their meals but as I mentioned before in another thread wyatt my siberian loooooves cheese so i'll usually let him get the last of the container when i'm done with it as a treat...and plus it's entertaining seeing him try to get the last little bit from the container haha

It Is Horrible But We Put Peanut Butter On The Roof Of His Mouth To Entertain Us.=) He Gets Happy When He Sees The Jar And Dabces Across The Room So We Think He Enjoys It As Much As Us

Ava loves cheese also. Her eyes get so big as soon as you make a sandwich LOL. So she gets a couple of slices.

I can get anything out of the refridgerator and Luke will just lay there. But let me grab the cheese, and he knows exactly what that sounds like. He'll be right there waiting for his piece.

Max Has A White Face And Two Black Dots Under Each Eye. So Whatever Sad Bulldog Face He Is Giveing Me Is Tripled From The Black Dots. And He Looks At Me When Cheese Is Out Like He Is Persucuted , Life Is So Hard As A Puppy And Please Give Me A Piece. It Is Hard Not To Give In. He Has The Face Down Pat. And Not Just Cheese But Cheetos Too. Yes A Bad Habit But He Loves Them. He Comes Running And He Rarely Runs When He Hears The Bag Crinkle. What A Ham

My Tobe likes to stick his head in the fridge to see what goodies he can take when I'm not looking, putting away groceries and what not. His head got closed in there a few times, but he didn't seem to mind. He liked the cold air. I always give my dogs the ends of containers of cottage cheese, which my labs especially love, but the peanut butter jars are hilarious. They walk around with them stuck on their faces trying to get down to the last inch on the bottom. I gave cottage cheese to my pup when he needed to pick up some weight and help with his belly issues. I think it seemed to help.

When Binky get a sour tummy, I use Cottage cheese to clean her out. I kills bacteria. Starve them for 12 hours and only give them cottage cheese for a day. And start them off on there normal food. Doing this will save hundreds of dollars in Vet trips and tummy Meds. Having such a large dog you find ways to cure them without going to the Vet. I have found Mastiff community online a valuble source of health info.

Lily has stomach problems too. I had never thought about giving her cottage cheese until I read these posts. Now, it's definitely something to try the next time her stomach gets upset :)
I do give her peanut butter as a treat, but maybe only twice a month at most. She does have sliced cheese mixed in with her kibble from time to time, and she loves vanilla ice cream. She only gets the ice cream when the kids I nanny get some though! :)
