How do I get my 9 week old pup to not freak out when I put a leash on him

I would suggest if he's actually scared of the leash(not just resistant to not being allowed past a certain point away from you), while he's asleep, attach a lightweight one to him, let him drag it around. If he's just resistant because he doesn't like being tethered to you, then attach the leash but don't try to lead him around by it. Play with him while its on, then stop playing when you take it off, so he associates it with a good thing. Dogs should be excited to see a leash, signals outside playtime and obedience training at my house. You want to make sure if he's actually becoming bitey at you or the eash to not turn it into a game. There's almost nothing worse than a hyperactive sixty pound dog who thinks a leash is for tug of war. Anyway, I'm having a problem with that with my foster dog so... Good luck, I'm sure he'll love the leash in no time.
