There are a few Ohio pounds that hold dogs for just a week. I know one website is www.colcodogs.com and the others can be found on petfinder.org under messages in the urgent section.
I apologize for not knowing this offhand. If you are considering adopting a dog, please check these pounds out. There is little time for them.

We got Dale from a pound in Ohio that was going to put him down just because he had been there for 2 weeks. The rescue group I got Dale from work with this specific ohio pound and they try to find homes for the pups before the are put down. I saw Dale on petfinder on a Thursday and his euthanasia date was set for the following wednesday. I said I would take him right away and it was the best decision I have ever made.

OMG That's horrible. All those poor dogs, I bet the ones who get homes does not even out number the ones who are put to sleep :(

Columbiana County, Carroll County and Pike County are some that are always in dire need or adopters or rescues to save some of the dogs. They are forced to put dogs down every week, and many shelters put down dogs even if there's cage space available, because come a few more days there won't be. It's a really sad situation. There addresses are below. SAVE A LIFE, ADOPT OR FOSTER!
