Does any one have horses? I am getting one soon. I take riding lessons at a local stable, I want to do western pleasure and the breed of horse I want is a Quarter Horse. Does anyone have a Quarter Horse that does Western Pleasure? :D

Hello! I have a horse. I only trail ride these days, but I used to show western pleasure. My boy is an Appaloosa gelding. Are you planning on boarding your horse or keeping him at home?

No quarterhorses here but we do have four drafts (2 belgians, a clydesdale, and a percheron) as well as a POA who just gave birth to a filly on May 30th. All but one of our horses (the one belgian) were purchased from local auctions and of those four, three were headed to slaughter. One for being grossly underweight (her former owners ran out of hay and waited until she was a skeleton before bringing her to an auction), one for being older, and one for being simply unwanted. I am not sure why the bred pony was taken to an auction. She is a very well-behaved little gal.

My husband and I trail ride about once a week as well as use 2 of the drafts for our pulling team. We have a wagon we take out once in awhile for fun. Other than that, they have a pretty laid back life and the older one is the pasture mascot as he is retired and enjoying life without the hard job he had before, that of an Amish plow horse.

Hi I've got an appy/quarter mare. Along with my other animals she is the light of my life. I do trail riding only. Good luck in your seach for that one special horse that you will click with!

I love belgians! I used to ride one named Fritz. He was quite a big boy! I owned a quarter horse for a while, Chance, who was a lot of fun. I would love to have a couple of freisians or andalusians one day.

Don't have any horse's here but I think they are very neat. Use to ride them as a kid. If I had the land I would definately get one.

When you get yours 12weimgirl you have to show us some pictures :)

I have an Arabian/ Quarter Horse mare.

She is about 4 1/2 and I am just now starting to train her in barrels. I never wanted to do Western Pleasure classes, but I use her as a trail/pleasure horse.

When I actually figure out how to post pictures, I will post one of my girl!

Dressage on a QH? WOW!

I think I have seen maybe 2 in all my life!

I normally get to see very cowy reining horses, barrel racers, or trail horse! It is rare to see a QH that does Dressage! How did you get into it?

I've seen a few Quarter Horses that do Dressage. I've been riding Dressage for a few years and then when we were looking for a horse we found him! :D

I have a QH paint gelding (boarded). Will put him in my gallery when I get this figured out. He is an old man, about 28-30, just used to trail ride, no western pleasure showing though. My dreams are one day to have my own acreage, lots of it, and have more horses; rescues, a friesan, and a lippizan. Would love to learn dressage.

Yay! Another Friesian lover! My friend and I both love them, she is getting a new Buckskin QH and I am saving up for a Friesian Colt. However, I think that instead of turning him into any sort of English Pleasure horse, I am headed towards Bomb Proof Trail Horse.... imagine that, a western friesian!!

Ya know to be honest, a paper bag would look stunning on a friesan LOL They are stunning all by themselves. I too, would be bomb-proof trail riding.

Friesians are my dream horse also... I collect resin model horses since it's not the right time for me to have a horse, but it's always been a dream to have a friesian. If I sold my whole resin model horse collection, I could buy a friesian foal. This is Jennifer Reid's Arend resin, painted and haired by the ultra-talented Faye Cohen. I just got him in the beginning of August, and have him tacked up as a side-saddle mount. Truly magnificent in person...
