Bleeding

Hi, i have a question and im just wondering if anyone can help...
I have a 8 month old pit bull, he has recently started bleeding from his penis.:confused:
I took him to the vet on the first day that it started and the vet wasnt helpful at all!!!! She looked at him saw that he wasnt currently bleeding and sent us home she said just keep and eye on it and tried to say that the blood was coming from a scabbed up scratch he had gotten a while back...however it was coming from the inside. Anyway that was about 4 days ago and it has bled since and today its been bleeding on and off all day. I was told by some random person that it sometimes happens to intact males or males that are sexually fustrated.... But i have read that its a sign of prostate cancer?? Im really confused i dont know if i should listen to the vet or what? Has anyone ever had this happen?

He could have an infection(Like a UTI or Bladder Infection), it could be in injury and also could be something wrse like cancer. Hopefully it is a minor problem. I don't like how the vet just brushed it off and would definately get a second opinion on it.

I think I would find another vet and explain the situation. It may not be serious, but if it is it's better to treat it sooner than wait around for other symptoms to show up.

Yes definetly find another vet. Real men not dog when they have a prostate thing goin on they bleed through their penis. Also is your dog urinating alot or not urinating . Guess its hard to tell if their is blood in your dogs urine. Its very important they figure out whats going on because if he developes clots inside he may not be able to urinate and thats real bad for them but also real painful. 4 days is to long. Let us know how its going but I would get another Vet ASAP.
