Because of Winn-Dixie. No question about it. But the movie was terrible.

White Fang. Such an amazing book. Not totally a dog book I guess, but wolves are close.

I have always been a sucker for Benji and all the Benji books. As a little girl I used to read them again and again.

"Where the Red Fern Grows"

Great story, great writing. Easy to read (I found it when I was 10 years old, and read it out loud to my son when he was 6). All kids relate to this sotry, and we all cried.
