GRRRR! So where is this mystery state that everyone moves to that just dosn't allow dogs anyway? I'm fostering 2 wonderful girls right now who would have euthinized if they hadn't gotten into rescue when they did. Leah has been through 4 homes in 2 years that we know of! Do these people have any idea of the degree of damage they do to the poor dogs? Just a though for the folks who don't feel like "going through the hastle": Before you decide your dog isn't worth taking along stop by your local shelter and ask how many dogs they have to "put down" each week. I guarantee you wont like the answer

My previous dog, a beautiful German Shepherd who passed away last December, moved a total of three times with me throughout her life. Two of those moves were into rental properties. I did have to pay an additional deposit as well as take out my own renter's insurance that would cover her (because of her breed) but never would I have dumped her or left her behind. I miss my girl. She and I had been together always and she was closer than my own shadow.
When you think about all the "disposable" dogs, whether people say they are moving or "just don't have time" for the dog anymore, what is really sad is that the majority of those dogs were not truly loved from the start. They were "commodities" and merely an item to be had but not kept.

We are moving in about 3 weeks and just drove 2 hours to look for a new place yesterday. We found only one that would accept the furkids..ofcourse we took it
There is very little yard, but there is a dog friendly park with a river running through it only 1 block away. It was very frustrating not being able to find someone that would rent to us because of the dogs. This is not an ideal place for us to have the dogs (because of no yard)but until we find something else it will have to do. There is no way I would get rid of my furkids because of moving. I would rather pay more in rent and have them with me. Just my opinion.... |

Again, I apologize for offending anyone on this site. I just want this beautiful dog to have a home. I thought as fellow dog lovers, you all could help. |
