Puppy mills

I am sure everyone here knows this, but please, please, please don't buy dogs from puppy mills. Most large pet stores use these puppy factories to get dogs. They don't treat their dogs well and they don't respect the breeds. Always buy from a reputable breeder.

So true! I quit working at the last store I worked at because they started getting dogs from the puppy mills. It was so sad. I spent a week after I quit in the parking lot putting flyers on all the cars about where the puppies came from and how bad it was. I had to hide a couple of times when they called the cops, but it was worth it.

I rescued a dog from a puppy mill a few months ago...told the "breeder" that I knew nothing about the breed, asked alot of questions and all she asked me was to bring cash. The dog was a 7 y.o. stud dog that had never seen the inside of a house.....lived in a concrete bldg. in a run. He ended up having severe prostate problems and though he was nursed back to health and is with a great forever family, it was quite an experience. The lady has an ad in the paper all the time.
