We are not into "buying" expensive purebreed pups. Instead would like to help out by adopting two female pups (8 weeks or so) whose mom or dad are lab. We will spay them as soon as appropriate and provide a great home. Our muddy backyard is finally being landscaped this week (just in time for puppies to chew it up!!). So are ready to adopt in a couple weeks. If you know of any puppies as described available please let me know. This has been the first time in my 40+ years I have not had a dog. My 15 yr old greyhound mix died last Sept. Sure miss a good friend and running fishing partner. These pups will be birthday presents for my 5 and 15 yr old girls.
Thanks!

So sorry for your loss!
It is great you are ready to open your heart again. You may want to consider 2 opposite sex dogs instead of 2 females. IMO that just makes it easier. Or maybe getting one at a time. Two is double the work, time, training and expense. Plus each will need individual time not just together time to be trained and to form human bonds properly. Just some food for thought
Have you tried looking on pet finder? They have tons of pups of all breeds and mixes looking for homes listed

and save a life. Thank you for considering a lab mix (they get my vote as best all around good natured, happy, friendly family pets). Black dogs are also most likely to be overlooked at the pound. Not really sure why but the adoption statistics for large breed black dogs are heartbreakingly low. Dogs with unique markings or colors are most likely to be adopted. Those salt of the earth black labs that bring such joy to so many of us are at the bottom of the list of "most adoptable" pets, particularly if they are older. IMO turning an older family pet into an animal shelter is the ultimate betrayal. How anyone could do such athing truly baffles me.
