Ultrasonic devices

Any one have experience with ultrasonic dog deterrent devices? Especially when used to deter an aggressive dog. I'd like to hear your experiences. They are sold as dog deterrents and training devices for nuisance barking.

A friend, with 3 Mastiffs tried the ultrasonic devices to keep them out of the flower beds. I think the noise annoyed them because they simply chewed them up until they quit making noise. It's my only experience with them and it wasn't all that positive.

The Ultrasonic I have tried and they are not any better than good old fashioned training to not bark, also i have found that a spray bottle and a sharp no in time does the trick!
