I have a 2 yr old Irish Wolfhound that loves to bark at anyone who walks by the house. This is going on in the living room. We just moved and she did this at our last place also. After she got to know the sight of the people she only barked at strange ones, but it is still annoying. Wouldn't be so bad if she only barked when they came on our porch..I mean then there would be a reason for her to bark.
This really drives my husband crazy..;)

I am at my wits end on how to get her to stop. I have tried everything I can think of..praise when she is quiet is the one I use most

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

I do correct her when she is not quiet. I tell to shh or no bark. I do pulll her away from the window. She is just a very persistant young lady

I am assuming this is a behavior I will just have to keep working on to correct. Never owned a dog quite like Reggie. She is certainly one of a kind!:D

Thanks for your input..I will keep working with her.

Finally figured out a way to stop Reggie from barking...I just say kennel and she shuts up. She knows she only goes in there when I leave...and I am guessing she understands that I do not enjoy her noise when someone walks by.
So the problem is solved and her barking has decreased tremendously.
