Non Ped Racing Whippets

I have seven non ped racing whippets all of which started their training from a very early age, as soon as they have had their inoculations they are taken to the tracks so that they can get used to the noise of the trap lids going up and also the noise the other whippets make, because believe it or not they actually love to race :) then after they have got used to the noises and have gained a little confidence one can start with the lure training.

My cousin races whippets at tracks around texas... it looks like so much fun to the dogs, I took my boxer to a race and he went CRAZY! he wanted to run so bad. Takes a lot of training, but it's a fun sport.

Your post brought back memories of Trixie our little Jack Russel, we took her to the tracks at times but had to start and leave her at home because she was worse than the whippets barking and pulling at the lead I swear she thought she too was a whippet lol :D
