Hello from Texas!

Hello! I'm new here, and figured I'd introduce myself. I own two crazy Heeler mixes, one is a male, Alex, 4 years old and half pit (I think) and the other is a female, Cassie, 1 year old, and half rat terrier (again, a guess). They are both agility dogs who love running as much as they can get, and in any form! We tend to spend a few hours a week mountain biking (or chasing the bike since I haven't taught them how to ride yet...haha) another few hours jogging, another few playing agility, and a TON of time playing frisbee (Cassie) or sitting around wondering how catching something in your mouth could possibly be THAT much fun (Alex and I), oh, and at least a bit of time fetching the frisbee from the neighbors backyard since I have terrible aim. I love learning anything I can about dog behavior or training, so I look foward to talking with all of you!

Lisa

Haha...we do have fun. I wish I could get a chunk on my dogs, but they won't let me sit still long enough to, and they eat me out of house and home to boot. It was said on some other post somewhere on this forum (as I've been browsing) that the more exercise you give your dog, the more exercise they need/expect. HOW TRUE! But, I've been working on an experiment called Alex (n=1) and results show that they eventually do slow down as they get older, he usually wants nothing but to get into the car and lie down after 6 miles, and the pup (over a year old so I'm not killing puppy joints) can go and go and go for....um...I don't know how long...at least 6 miles and some frisbee...I've never gotten her really tired.
