I have a multi-dog, multi-cat household, but would really like to bring this very friendly and well socialized homeless rabbit in from my vets office. My biggest worry is actually my cats, but really size wise, I think the rabbit would be okay, any advice?

Wow now thats a question! My brother had rabbits the dogs 4 of them never bit the rabbits but they would run around and chase them. The rabbits where always to fast. He also had a huge desert turtle walking around and huge birds, African greys and stuff like that and they were fine. Only thing is - his dogs loved to kiss the rabbits when they got near them so watch out for that. A Bunny was loss due to what we believe was suffucation for excessive licking. Ya know when your dog licks you and tries to keep covering your mouth. (ok maybe Im the only one who's dog ever kissed their mouth- I dont think so) well thats how the bunny died. I would introduce the Rabbit to them and see the reactions. I would never leave Mr. Bunny out with them all when your not around. Now as for your Feline family members I dont know how they feel about bunnies. I just hope its one big bunny to go into such a big group but Im sure their are more knowledgeable people here who may have more knowledge on this subject. Good luck with Mr. or Mrs Bunny.

It really depends on the rabbit and on the personality of the cats. I have a friend that has 12 cats (she adopts "unadoptable cats" from a local cat rescue) and has 4 rabbits that boss the cats around. Some of her cats have even been ferral cats that chased/killed rabbits in the wild.
Here is a great place for information on rabbits:

It might not be a problem. I've herd about this done with dogs before. It depends on the personality of the cats and the rabbit. Good luck and I hope all goes well for you.

Just to fill anyone interested in, its going great so far! Everyones been getting along surprisingly well, and I think it'll work out just fine!**Smiles**
I have a female rabbit (an aguti lop) who is great friends with my two maine coon cats. They are all indoor, and are all litter box trained. They have been together for a few years now, and I've never had a problem to date, with any of them.
Now, my APBT, well, she's another story!!! That's when we do the "pit bull shuffel"...

My cat is friends with the rabbit next door. Which is good because we are not always able to see what they are doing. There is also a guinea pig which runs around which he likes to follow and pat on the bottom occasionally but has never hurt it and i think is very unlikely to. The rabbit and Rastus follow each other around and will go to sleep next to each other.
