It's not a bad thing, just really weird! She doesn't do it in my house, only at my boyfriend's house. She's 1.5 yrs old & has been going to his house regularly since she was a baby, she lives there almost as much as my house. When I give her a bone, if she doesn't feel like chewing, she'll hide it behind a plant, behind the sofa, behind the bar, or behind a stereo speaker. But she'll move it a minute after she hides it & will continue to move it & re-find it/re-hide it for up to an hour before she leaves it! It's so funny to watch, is it just a game that she plays or is it something more?? There are no other pets at his house, & in her mind, I'm the "alpha dog", she comes 2nd, & he comes 3rd in rank.

Actually it sounds like my dog Nicky he loves bones and hides them under his bed (I guess from his brother Rio) He even puts them under pillows in my bed so I have to check before I go to bed at night.

Mine does the same thing...behind chairs, under pillows, its very cute! I was also watching my friends rat terrier one weekend, and she actually burried the bone in one of my potted plants! Too bad she didn't know how to get all the dirt back in!

Now that is the best one yet in a potted plant. I would have been cracking up on that one.

My dog only hides one kind of bone. She eats everything as soon as she get her paws on it. She is a little dog but can eat a pig ear in less than 2 minutes. Some times, very rarely she will play with it for about 5 minutes before she chomps it down. Then about a month ago we gave her a chew that she had never had. Expecting that she would run to the grass and eat it I watched for a few minutes. When she went to the gravel in the yard and buried it I was completely stunned:confused: We have continued to give her a variety of treats but usually with this one kind she saves it for later. I have no idea what is going on???
