those police dogs are good,,I just can't believe they can't call them back faster then that,,letting them chew on that guy,,I would be mad if the dogs I am training acted like that

DD is right, what you see is how dogs are actually trained for bite work. Another reason they're not called off right away is, police dogs must keep controll of a suspect untill it's safe for the officers and they have the situation under controll. The last thing you want in this situation is a dog that releases to soon, giving the suspect time to draw a gun and shoot you.
