I'm been trying to teach my 6/7 week old Labradour/Beagle cross Ridgeback to not bite when he plays with us or other dogs. It seemed to be working quite well by isolated him in the laundary for 1 or 2 minutes immediatly after he bites. But today after I put him in there for about the 4th or 5th time I got distracted by something and accidently felt him in there for about 10 minutes and remembered he was in there when I heard him crying. I ran to the door and as soon as he stopped crying for 1 second I let him out. He now seems to resent me for it and dislike me. I can just tell by the way he acts.

What should I do to win him back? Ignore him and hope he misses me? I've only had him for 4 days so I'm worried he'll just become 'rude' to me seeing as I'm in a house with 5 other people and 2 other dogs.

What is the best way I can win/get him back to loving me again?? Any help is REALLY appreciated.

Thanks

I think its possible to regain the bond.

You could try playing with your dog, just the two of you, for short periods of time each day. That way, he will know that you are not ignoring him, or "forgetting" him. Lots of love, lots of cuddles, treats...make him feel special, don't over-do it :) Spend time with each of the dogs, together and seperately. I am sure you didn't destroy your bond, and you can surely correct it. Good luck.

I think it sounds like your anthropomorphizing a bit here. 10 minutes in solitary is not enough to break the bond, trust me. a dog loves unconditionally, he will always forgive you. he may just be sulking a bit. give him time, and I think you'll see that everything is as it should be.
