Okay, I have a female peekingese(Roxy) who is not altered and a male shi-tzu(Banjo) who is not altered. You know what that means!!!

I have been trying to train them to not go in the house which is not working!!! Since the female is in heat at the moment, the male is peeing all over the place. (I probably will not have puppies because she hates him even when shes in heat)

I have tried EVERYTHING to try to get them to stop peeing and poopign in the house. There is nothing that works on them. Which does not make any sense, because they learn EVERYTHING else so quick. They are 3 and 1 years old, for goodness sakes!!!! Even if I leave them outside for 2 hours (on a nice day), Banjo will come right inside and lift his leg. What is his problem?

With the male, would it help if I got him altered? Or would he be just as bad? I know he would stop doing you-know-what to EVERYTHING, thats for sure.

I'm not sure how to help you on this.

I believe the male would be "marking" his territory around the female mostly since as you said, she's in heat. Getting them both fixed might solve a bit of the male's problem. As for the pooping, when you see them start to squat for it, grab them up quick and take them outside. Then praise! Use a "go potty, go poopy" type command each time. Eventually they should get it, that OUTSIDE is for pooping :) Good luck

His age has nothing to do with it, you will have to treat him like a puppy, go back to basics on housetraining. And don't just leave him outside for a couple hours then expect him to know what is expected of him.

Having both of them fixed will help with the male marking everything. I have two poodles that I bred. After the second litter, I had them both fixed.

Once they were both fixed, they were both so much happier and playful and the male quit marking everything.

I still keep them in a crate at night and I have a doggy door installed so they go in and out on their own during the day. This solved the problem of peeing and pooping in the house.

Good luck to you!
