Grooming?

HEY!

This has been going on since the day I got my pup (she's almost 2 now), but I figured I'd post:

I have a 1 1/2 year old lab/pit mix (Veruca) and a 3 year old Boston (Gram), for some reason every morning when Veruca is done cleaning herself she will go over to Gram and clean his ears and face. Its the cutest thing!!!
Gram lets her do this, its never been a problem, just wondeeing if anyone has any idea why she would do this.
Of the two dogs, Veruca seems to be the Alpha most of the time.
Anyone have any thoughts?

my male and female take turns likin' each other up and down! they start on each others ears and then move to the head , feet and ......well you know. its hilarious. my female gets a lot of ear infections....i think its from tooooo much saliva from the male

Usually it is the subordinant cleaning the Alpha... then again some dogs just get compulsive habits too IMO
