In the press release he apologizes for the people he hurt but not for what him and the other sickos did to those poor animals!....If you ask me he only cares about changing the opinion people have of him and saving his career...That doesn't show much remorse for his actions IMO!

The way they fight dogs now days is no where near the way they use to back in the day.
I know dog fighting is bad,but it use to be a gentlemans sport and dogs didn't die....There were rules and they had to be followed,or you and your dog didn't fight again.
Now days the punks who fight dogs, don't care about the dogs, but the winning.

While I understand your point I dont think dog fighting with rules in place or not causing death to the dogs is any more exceptable although I'm sure that's not what you meant. They still suffer horrible pain and injuries and suffering in that way can be worse then dying from the inflicted injuries.I do agree with you though. These punks only care about the money and the status it gives them with the other idiots in their circle of scum!

It is not exceptable now days, but back when breed were made they were made for a reason and some just happened to be fighting...It is something that will never be bred out of certain breeds..And it's sad for people to use the dogs in such a way that was not intended...

Yes,your right about that.Even Akita's for a time were being bred for fighting and I agree it is sad that people use dogs for things they weren't intended for.I just hope that this whole thing with Vick will bring some notice to how wide spread this problem is and the cruelty that goes with it!It sure would be nice for some of our law makers to do something good for a change and pass some laws to toughen the penelties for these crimes.

I dont believe he's taking responsibility I think he's just trying to save his a** and his money and his career! He knew he didn't have much of a chance in front of jury since there were 7 witnesses to testify against him

where did you hear this? gambling on your own team possibly ala pete rose but plenty of NFL players gamble in vegas. there was even an incident where joey porter punched out one of the bengals players (can't think of his name off hand) in a casino this off season

I'm actually POd. That is like a slap on the wrist to him and not justice at all. He should be scrubbing kennels for the next 30 years IMO

ESPN has said it several times, as well as NFL Network Total Access... It's been said plenty of times if he pleads guilty for gambling, Goodell could give him a lifetime ban for it because gambling is 'up to' a lifetime ban... Well see, since he did plead quilty to gambling on the dogs...

The NFL has suspended Vick indefinitley without pay and Nike has terminated their contract with him.Looks like he wont be bank rolling any dog fighting rings for awhile!

but indefinitley is not forever...He could still come back to football.

Very true...I only hope it doesn't happen. The Falcons will be going after him to recoup the $22 million sign on bonus he's been paid so I doubt they'll be taking him back...It doesn't mean another team wont pick him up though unless they decide to ban him for good.

Well, I'll be glad when it's over and the news channels stop getting their ratings and the people making money from the entire ordeal are finished. I personally hope he gets to go back to work. He is no different than any other citizen in this country except for the fact he is rich. If it had been myself or any other Joe on the street most of you would have never known about it. Perhaps we need to put as much focus on the criminals crossing our borders as we have Michael Vick. I'm sure we would find a few cock and dog fighters in that population as well.

i know a lot of people that didnt know how bad dog fighting was untill the Vick thing. i think it has helped spread the news on how bad it really is. i could not disagree with you more.
HE KILLED PUPS!!! HE WAS GAMBLING ON THEM, AND IF THEY WERE NOT GOOD FIGHTERS HE KILLED THEM!!!!!!
he should NEVER be able to play again. he is sick and horable.

Blue Lacy Lover, ignore Stark, he always has something stuck up his ass and a bad attitude all the time... I know I would lose my job in the Air Force if I got charged with dogfighting... Normal, hard working people do lose their jobs all the time for stuff that NFL players get away with all the time... It's about time that's changed...

I suppose if you were working at McDonalds you could keep working at McDonalds... but this man is looked up to by young boys that want to emulate everything he does. You would think kids would know the difference between right and wrong. But it's obvious they don't. He had a responsiblity to children and fans that see him as the only positive role model they had, not to screw that up. But he did.
It boggles my mind how people act like this isn't a big deal. Or when people say that football players can beat their wives and not get fired but they can't fight dogs and keep their job. I think all of that should change. It's time that athletes and celebrities take more responsibility for their actions. No one feels guilty about anything anymore. No. They can be a jerkhole and people will just forgive them.
Well, I won't forgive and I'll keep writing letters that go unanswered and making phone calls no one returns because if people just roll over and let things be "okay" then we're setting a poor example for the children and their future. Sometimes I think we're living in the best of times but then I see where society is going and I retract that thought.

Rott,
While I will not censor your post I will say that your inexperinece with life as well as dogs once again shines through. I have been gone for a while which has allowed a few of you self proclaimed experts to get on here and try and brow beat new members. We have already had one leave because they were caught in their web of deceit, next. It is increasingly obvious that you are jealous of those of us who have more knowledge, experience and success than yourself, but that should not lead you to being abusive on this forum.
Those of us who have been in the game for a while can very easily pinpoint those who wish to pretend, it is so obvious when you post. So do yourself a favor and stop trying to criticizing others when they don't agree with your ideology.
