A contest can make a forum fun
I think a contest is fun and gets people involved.
My suggestion is to approach manufactures and retailers and see if they will donate/sponsor for different ongoing contests. I appreciate the site very much would like to see it get promoted. I would certainly sponsor a contest. Maybe with a cool dog tag or something?  just a thought!
