The boy i have I just can't find the right food for him. No matter what I put him on he seems to have some loose stool. I had him on canidae lamb and rice for about 6m but noticed his coat was getting brittle not horrible but not right plus he wasn't gaining weight like he should. So I tried solid gold beef and something, i forget, because beef has always worked well for a couple of my other dog's. No luck there coat is ok, still loose stool at least once a week, and if anything he is loosing weight. He has been tested for all the worms ect. He gets no other treats. I'm not sure what to try at this point. Any suggestions? He seems to be the only one haveing issues.

Here are foods I like:
I feed the top two listed that I listed...
Timberwolf Organics
Nature's variety ( I like their RAW better than their Kibble)
Merrick
Plus if he is having digestive issues along with the food try adding some probiotics or plain yogurt and pumpkin

Have you considered or tried going raw?
We had ongoing problems with loose stool with our male (but not our female) - which both got Canidae when they were younger. As he got older his loose stool went from once in awhile - to once a week - to everyday. He was checked out for everything, all came up clear. We switched him to home cooked, and he responded well and then we took it one step further and went to complete raw .. which he really started to respond to.
I agree with Patch on the probiotics ..

Just in case you wondered...I ended up going with eagle pack, the fish one. Its got a few more things then i would like in a dog food but it seems to be doing the trick. Knock on wood we haven't had lose stools the last few days. We shall see.

What do you think of the Eagle Pack probiotics - Holistic Solutions. Any one have any experience with it or one with similar contents? My mini schnauzer has had intermittent episodes of diarrhea all of her life. Sometimes bloaty or constipated. She's doing better on Innova but still has some episodes.

Nancy-

I'm loveing it. He has had no loose stool since we started it. I'm really really happy with it. Wish i would have tried it sooner.
