Hi. We just got an English Cocker Spaniel 9 week old puppy. My puppy likes to get as close to our heads as she can when we cuddle on the couch or bed. This behavior isn't causing a problem for us. We would like to know why she does this.

She is a wonderful puppy. She responds well to our training and is really well behaved. We are having such a great time!!!

My beagle-lab mix does the same thing! Whenever I am laying down, he cuddles with my head, and licks and nibbles on my ears (or tries to. lol). He doesn't do that with my boyfriend or son though. I just assumed it was a comforting thing to him.

I used to have a toy poodle and when she was a puppy she used to insist on lying on my neck whilst I was lying down... She'd fall asleep there, perhaps because it was warm?
Not sure why they do it though!

It could be a comfort thing, being close to you,and warm.
If this bothers you now make sure to let them know as soon you dog will be bigger.
I have had to teach my dogs where to lay on the bed(as they both want to be on me and their Rottweilers.)
