Greetings from VA

Long time homebrewtalk.com (sister site) member here. We've got 2 German Shorthaired Pointers. One is Sadie:

She's about 7, and pretty big for a female GSP. We rescued her from a GSP rescue group about 2 years ago. She started off extremely shy (wouldn't even come out of her crate at the foster home when we met her) but now she's very outgoing, though still skittish at loud noises. She's also very docile and calm most of the time, which is very atypical for GSP's.

And Xander:

We rescued him about 6 weeks ago. He's 3 years old; his previous owners were Marines who got relocated to Japan, and rather than stick him in the kennel for the 6-month quarantine process, they reluctantly put him up for adoption. He's 20 lbs lighter than Sadie, skin-n-bones, and very hyperactive (more typical GSP behavior). Unlike Sadie, we can't let him off the leash until our fence is finished. He's gotten away from us 3 or 4 times, and bolts down the street. We've been lucky so far that he's run into fenced-in yards where we can corner him. Should be finished with the fence this weekend, so he can finally run around.

Anyway, they both have their own issues, and if this place is anything like homebrewtalk, I have a feeling you guys will be able to help. Cheers!
