Cheeky puppy?

I brought home a 12 or so weeks old lab mix puppy from the shelter last sunday and have been crate training her and we have been pretty successful and have had fairly few accidents in the house.

On the third day she was home she started going to the door when she wanted to go to the toilet.

However now she realises that when she stands by the door and jumps up and down then she gets to go outside and keeps doing it when she feels like a look out there and often doesnt even go to the loo :rolleyes: .

Has anyone else had this happen or know how to handle it?

Start to teach your pup to sit/stay before going out the door. When you see her jumping up at the door, tell her no then have her sit/stay. Regardless if she's going to the bathroom outside or not each time, still have her sit/stay before going out. Putting her on a leash at these times helps in teaching this.

i have the same problem i just brought home an 8 week old pup and she does the same.
