Hello, i am new to the forum. I am about to bring a 9 wk old puppy home. I have grown up with dogs but never raised a pup. Im alittle unclear on whether its encouraged to put the pups bed in my bedroom for the first few nights to help her settle in. The puppy will have its own space in the inside laundry, until she is old enough to sleep outside. Will i be making it harder for her, having her so close in my room, or should i keep her in 'her space' from day one?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Congrads on the puppy...what breed is it, and why will it have to spend its nights outside?

I would keep her in "her space" from day one. Be warned - she will CRY. Be strong and make sure you keep her on a schedule for feeding & potty breaks(frequently) and don't give in to the crying!
Good luck!

My puppies sleep in my bed. When I am home and can't watch them or at work they are crated.
Many just keep them crated at night
at least until they are trained

I highly recommend crate training and agree, at nite the crate should be in your room, and also agree , the first few nites, week, plan on not getting much sleep :)
Also wonder why you would keep the dog/puppy outside when it gets older?
Dogs crave nothing more than to be with their people, and that is living within the family in the house. Now adays, it can be unsafe to leave your dog outside unattended.
If you crate train, you can leave the puppy/dog crated while your away and no worries.
I would really consider "living" with your new puppy it has more positives than the negatives of having them live outside.
