As an animal activist and "rescuer," this woman is supposed to be setting an example!
And I KNOW that her organization handles more than 25 dogs a year. They are required by law to have a kennel license. I take in far fewer than DDB each year and *I* had to build kennels outside, and will probably have to gravel my whole potty yard, to pass inspection again.
It's so much BS.

All she sets is a BAD example.

“Unfortunately, Cyclone is a product of our societal mistakes; an unneutered male dog, left chained for life and unsocialized with humans, may be exceedingly dominant in personality...
She makes it seem like an unneutered male dog is a bad thing in itself.
And I thought in PA, you had to quarantine for 10 days?

You can choose not to, as she did, and opt to have the head taken off and sent for rabies testing.
And I actually like that she's giving unneutered males a bad rap there, even if it's blowing it out of proportion a bit. The "unsocialized" part would be the key factor. Truthfully, though, they are *generally* more prone to territorial or aggressive behaviors than neutered males.
This incident tells me that she doesn't know a heck of a lot about dogs, though.

I just didn't like the way she emphasized that point to explain the dog's extreme behavior. That could backfire into people just avoiding male dogs and only wanting female dogs.

Ugh... Makes me sick... If I keep "talking", it's not going to be nice, so I'm just leaving it at that... Grimes is a freaking joke.

I just found out Jake, the stolen dog has crossed the bridge. This nut is giving rescues a bad name!

The sad thing is, some of the local lists here (Tammy Grimes is also local) are so full of rescuers who support her that I couldn't speak my opinion if I wanted to!

I know, I've seen her and "best friends" on my transport list.. I won't help anyone from Best Friends...
