change in eating habits..

I have 2 8 month old catahoula bulldogs who for the first 6 months of having them had an intense appetite, would eat their meals (3 times a day) in literally minutes... as of about a week ago their appetite has really subsided, not only do they not eat nearly as quickly, half the time they don't appear interested in eating their food at all... I called the vet to get his thoughts on this, he advised that it could just be a bad bag of dog food, so I bought a new one, same results...could this just be a phase of some sort?

I am not familiar with catahoula bulldogs but I may be able to offer some suggestions and not turn this into a brand discussion.

Puppy's eat more than adults. If your dogs are close to full body development their nutritional requirements will drop some.

Cold weather and activity both together or seperately will increase a dogs feeding behaviors. If their environment's temprature has warmed and or if they are getting less excercise they may need to eat less.

That said, more important than how much they are eating is are they healthy? If they are doing well and not losing an abnormal amount of weight I would thank the dogs for saving you some money.
