Hi everyone im new to this whole doggy stuff, I have a beautiful 3 year old Siberian Husky Female named Echo she was suppose to be house trained but it hasnt quite looked that way the past 2 nights.
I woke up the first morning to pee on my floor then the second morning to pee and poo. She knows this behaviour is unacceptable cause she will coward away from me at the sight of me when i walk into my kitchen in the morning. Like she knows im not accepting this behaviour, now my question is how do I train her to do her business outside? Can she be trained at 3 years old and how long should it take before I seek proffesional help. Wat consequences do I give her for this behaviour any idea? Id like to work with her myself so she knows im boss but on the otherhand I know this breed can be difficult in obedience and training. Hope to get some help somewhere. Thanks Shelly (Echo)

Go back to the basics... Treat/train as if your dog is a puppy... Get a crate to place dog in in the evenings...

Thanks for the advice I figured thats what I will have to do.
Though what is an appropriate disciplinary action to take with her. I am gonna be getting a cage for overnight because I really dont like wakeing to that kind of a surprise. But is confineing her to a cage ONLY @ night really gonna do any good? Also what kind of treat method do you think is good to use whenever she goes outside or when I wake up and she hasnt done any business in the kitchen. Because at night she is locked in the kitchen as I didnt know her night time behaviour and the lady obviously as I suspected wasnt being fully truthfull about her behaviour. |

She can hold her potties, but a kennel will help reenforce that because she will NOT want to lay in her potties... The kitchen is bigger, so she can pee or poop and never have to lay in it, and you won't be able to displine/correct her because you never saw it... So, yes, and kennel will make the difference...
To reenforce outside potties, I just say good girl or good boy, good potties and pet them and praise them... They understand they did good... To correct potty accidents inside the house you need to physically catch them in the act or they will never know what they are being diciplined for... If you are catching it in the act, simply say NO in a firm voice( no yelling), get the collar and leash and immediately take outside and go potty...

Thank You so very much I finally can see some hope here.
I will try the cage/kennel choice and i keep my fingers crossed. I have now twice been out with her since 10am and she went the first time i praised her and gave her treat when we got in the second time just now she went outside and when we came in she went right to her treats LOL so I think she may already got the clue to what were doing. I HOPE Thanks Echo |
