Ok... So, I'm a little worried.. This has happened here locally, 3 dogs attacked in a 2 day period... I'll be keeping a eye on a "reflex"...
Pit Bull Boards Bus; Bites Girl MABLETON -- The owner of a pit bull gets three citations after the animal gets onto a school bus and bites an 11-year-old. The dog has now been impounded and school officials are praising the bus driver for some quick action. The bus driver, who was too shy to speak with Channel 2, grabbed that dog and tossed it off the bus. The girl who was bitten is okay. Students who were on the bus said the entire experience was scary. “I think the dog was going to bite me,” explained 2nd grader, Ashley Morris. That’s why, with about 30 other kids who were on a Cobb County school bus when a pit bull came onboard, Ashley Morris stood on her seat and began screaming. One 11-year-old girl couldn’t get away fast enough. “The dog bit Brea and pulled her skin off and she had to do to the hospital,” said Ashley. We’re told the girl’s wounds to her knee weren’t all that serious, and she was back at school wearing bandages. So how did the 13-month-old pit bull get on the bus? School officials say the animal belonged to some of the students who were preparing to board. “Kids walked up and the dog ran up with the students,” said Carlton Burton with Cobb County Schools. The bus driver, who had her seatbelt on, began kicking at the dog trying to get it off the bus. But the dog got past her and bit the girl. “(The) driver got up out of her seat, grabbed the dog and got the dog off the girl,” said Burton. School officials say when the dog first got on the bus it was playful, but then the kids got excited and that’s when the dog got agitated. Ashley says the bus driver was really courageous and she says so was the 11-year-old who was bitten. “She was sitting there crying because it had hurt her when the dog bit her,” said Ashley. The dog was impounded and its owner received citations for failure to control an animal, having a vicious animal and for not having a rabies record available. School officials say dogs following its owners to bus stops is a common occurrence but this is the first time they’ve seen a dog actually get on a bus. http://www.wsbtv.com/news/10832882/detail.html And the second one, the day after the pitbull attack... Two Dogs Attack Elderly Woman KENNESAW -- An 86-year-old woman was seriously injured by two dogs Wednesday, one day after a girl was attacked in Cobb County. The German shepherd and Labrador retriever jumped on Annie Maiforth about 8:30 a.m, said Cobb County police Cpl. Dana Pierce. Maiforth suffered severe injuries on the right arm and lacerations to the inner left thigh, Pierce said. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment, he said. "We'll never know why the two dogs bolted at her, while she was going to the mailbox," he said. Pierce said when one officer retrieved the dogs, they were both calm and passive. "Before the officer put the leash around one dog's neck, it licked him on his hand," Pierce said. Both dogs were taken to a nearby animal hospital and euthanized. The owner of the dogs will be cited next week, Pierce said. An 11-year-old Mableton girl was attacked by a pit bull as she boarded her school bus on Tuesday. The girl was bitten on her knee and ankle, a Cobb County schools spokesman said. The bus driver pulled the dog off the girl. http://www.wsbtv.com/news/10846436/detail.html
