New Members / Traffic

If anyone has any ideas on how to bring new members or boost traffic please let me know.

I've tried search engine submissions, link exchanges, and web rings so far.

All the things you have done (search engine submissions, link exchanges, web rings, ect..) are great ways to get the word about your forum out there...

Personally I think joining another forum just to invite members to come to yours is very rude...A more honest and respectable approach is to ask the forum admin if they have a section where you are allowed to promote your board...if they do not ask if it would be allowed for you to include a link to your forum in your sig line..and if you do this please make sure to be a member of that forum.

I used to run my own forum, I had a space for active board members to promote their websites and forums, if members became inactive after 30 days I removed their site.

Good discussions and knowledgeable members help. If people see there is good advice on your board they will more likely want to join either to ask questions themselves or to help others.

I found this through Craigslist. I put up ads for my pet portrait business on it and I always scroll through while I'm at it.

Glad I found it!!

I will also mention it at the gardening site I frequent.

I did provide the link on my gardening website and know for a fact it already is drawing folks here. If everyone posts a link to another forum they participate in...we'll have lots of people visiting!

Actually I found this board as well as a few others by being invited to them. I don't feel like anyone "stole" me for another site, I still go to them when i have time as well. I'm sure I will tell others about this site as well. It's always good to find a site like this that isn't run by some weird clique that tries to run you off because you may not agree with everything they say. Great site so far.
