Dog Ordinance names specific breeds
The controversial Louisville dog ordinance passed committee late Monday evening by a 4-3 vote.
The breed-specific ordinance will now move on to the full Metro Council.
The ordinance puts restrictions on potentially dangerous dogs. Some Republicans didn't want the ordinance to name specific breeds, but the ordinance did contain that breed-specific language.
The ordinance names three bull terrier breeds and four mastiff breeds. Owners of those dogs would have to pay higher fees and the dogs would have to wear muzzles when in public places if they are not spayed or neutered.
