Finding a breeder - Dog Forums

Ok so this might be a stupid question (most of mine are

) Lol but How do you go about finding a breeder? Its not like I will be able to get a puppy for a while, 3 years if everything goes right (which it usually doesnt

) , but I would like to start researching different breeders and stuff like that

Oh and in case any of you were wondering I want an Irish Wolfhound

You can go to shows and meet breeders, you can go through ads in dog magazines or do your research on the web. An Irish Wolfhound WOW I love the ones I have ever met................

There are a few reputable breeders of Irish Wolfhounds in Colorado... Average price for them is $1500... I want one too, that's why I know about them... Well, you know that, we talked about it... Duh... lol..

Yeah I need to start finding some shows at least within a couple hours away

Ya know maybe I am not good at looking stuff up but Vegas isnt really big with dog shows Lol

Can you PM me with some of their information? Websites if they have em.... You dont have to if you dont wanna though

If I can find them again... I should have saved them in my favorites but I kinda flipped when I saw the prices they were going for... Real nice looking dogs, though, you will like them... Just remember 2 of them were in Colorado... Let me see if I can find them again...

I got my very first wolfhound a few months ago and I just love her! I will never have any other breed again. I can help you get into contact with a few very good wolfhound breeders if you are interested. Let me know....

Here's one of the ones I liked last year when I was looking into them... The only thing I'm concerned about now, is she is not active in showing so none of her dogs have "champions", although all her dogs have "champions" starting in 3rd generations... Prices are little high to me, I would ask if she gives garrantees about her pups showing.

PS- For any breeder, always ask to see about health tests, and to physically see their OFA certs on their dogs.
