Kujo's Grooming
Well where I work I get to have Kujo groomed once a month for free and believe me when I tell you he get's the full treatment.I do his bathing and drying and then the girls brush him,do his nails and ears and brush his teeth.Anyway,I got him done by 4:30 and had to start work at 5 so we put him in one of the kennels until my husband could pick him up at 6:15 when he got off of work.Well I guess maybe because he was a pound dog he freaks out being in the kennel. He barks, cries and even bangs his head on the door.Well we didn't have any obedience classes yesterday and my manager felt so bad for him he told me to take him into the training center so he'd be able to see me and throw a bunch of toys in there to play with.He even took turns checking on him with me and I caught him about four times in there playing with him and giving him treats! Now how's that for a cool boss?Needles to say hubby wasn't to thrilled that Kujo came home smelling like x-mas cookies from the conditioner we used on him...LOL

A conditioner that smells like Christmas cookies??? Wow, maybe I need to take some pooches to the groomers. That sounds very appealing, lol.
Your boss sounds great!

It smells like the real deal.I can still smell it on him and yes my boss is terrific. It really showed me how much he cares about animals.I wish you could've seen the look on his face everytime I caught him giving Kujo a treat. It was like oh no am I in trouble.I told him it was ok as long as he made him do something to earn it even a simple thing like making him sit.I think my boss spent more time with Kujo then he did working...LOL

Lets put it this way,the bath and drying took me an hour and a half alone. That didn't include getting brushed, his nails done and teeth brushed. It is definitely a chore but he's well worth it and is beautiful when it's all done.

I love the Christmas scents. Well all but peppermint. An hour and a half to bathe and dry him? Do they not have a bathing system? I remember having to hand bathe my first 2 akitas. That took soooo looong. Getting all that hair wet was a chore in itself. Water rolls right off.

They do have a bathing system but getting that double coat wet and dry especially when he's fighting you makes it take forever.

We use a hydrosurge too and still, it takes me a long time to bathe and dry a dog as big or thick coated as an Akita. Sometimes Bruno (the big akita I mentioned once before) can't even get finished because he hates having his head dried and I have to put him in a cage dryer.

Do you use Chris Christenson's Thick n Thicker? It REALLY cuts the dry time. I put them in a cage with several towels while I bathe the next dog, then put them on the table to HV.

We can't cage dry him because I guess since he's a rescue he freaks if you kennel him.Not only does he cry and howl but he actually bangs his head against the cage door. The problem is that he hates the sound of the dryer so bad he won't stay still. He even runs and hides from the vaccuum.I don't know what they did to him at the Animal Control I got him from but for an Akita he has alot of fears.Even when I correct him for bad behavior all I have to do is look at him and he goes right to his spot and doesn't get up until I say he can.
