Hmm, I wonder if I can find a beagle/blueberry hybrid. That way I can get one that doesn't smell like a hound dog so quickly.

*Disclaimer- I like beagles AND the way they smell.

Mixed breeds

Did anyone else pay attention to the dog food company on the site, I found that very interesting?

I noticed Iams and Eukanuba but I only looked at a handful of dog pictures.

Yes, it is funny to responsible dog owners but it is also pretty scary when I think about it. I saw this website before and I didn't like it then.

Hi,

I new to the board and found it very helpful but at the same time there seems to be a lot of hostility towards hybred dogs from a few of the same people. I realize everyone has their opinion but at the same time you are making it quite uncomfortable for me to post and I am sure others with the same sort of breed feel the same way. I know a lot of people that hate rotties and believe the breed should be banned but you do not see me posting that. My family just lost a rottie named Missy a month ago at 12 years of age (short life span) and it broke our hearts she was the most gentle and wonderful dog you could ask for, she touched a lot of peoples lives and gave us complete devotion. But at the same time there was a lot of people that did not want to go near her because of the reputation the breed has.

So sorry for the babbling but I feel that my dog the so called laughable breed is one of the best pets so far I have had so far. He is almost potty and crate trained and we have only had him not even a week yet. He came from a breeder that actually delivered the pups in his home and had them socialized with his children. He does not just sell them to anyone either I did have to answer a few questions and he had to see my kids interact with the pup. So I really disagree when it is stated as it has been posted that they all come from puppy mills. All type of breeds come from puppy mills!!! And all pure breds started by mixing breeds together.

My personal opinion is that anyone who intentionally breeds a mixed breed dog is not a responsible breeder. I cannot support purposeful ignorance though I whole-heartedly encourage and support those who learn from their mistakes. I suggest creating a thread specifically to address the ethics of breeding mixed breeds, designer dogs, hybrids, etc to discuss the issue at length. And please remember that though opinions may clash on this forum (which is what makes it so interesting as long as everyone behaves) we all want what is best for our dogs and this is what brings us together here.

If haromony is what is wannted then do not bash people that have bought or adopted hybreed dogs. This is the breed I want and choose I would never condem someone for purchasing a breed of their choice. You might feel what the breeders are doing is wrong but again it is your opinion and the few others that continue to bash the breeds should really watch what they write so a nice atmosphere can be created in this forum for hybred owners like myself. Again a lot of people feel that a few breeds should be banned and I think that it is just wrong. example pit bulls and rotties.

Please inform me exactly where anyone has personally bashed the owner of a hybrid dog.
Like I said, this topic belongs in its own thread because there are so many differing opinions. I will not disregard my standard of ethics to appease someone else but neither am I aware of anything I have said in this general topic where I have directed insults towards a dog's owner.

I just wanted to clarify myself since I re-read this and saw that you included adopting as well. Adopting a dog is wonderful and rewarding for both and I encourage everyone to pursue this in lieu of purchasing. I think perhaps this topic is getting twisted around. I have a problem with someone intentionally breeding a mixed breed dog and that is what I am addressing, not the dog itself.
