fosters anyone?

So does any body have any fosters right now? If so lets hear about them! tell us their story, breed, etc.

I have two small fosters currently

Smokey- Got turned in cause the owner rented and Smokey barked when they left...

Bear- Turned in cause he had too much energy.

Nothing exciting in mine...

I'm sussposed to be getting one from Ohio but transportation seems to be an issue at the moment. Unknown story picked up as a stray.

Baby- 16 yo lhasa apso, blind, mostly deaf, headed to the vet soon for PTS because her quality of life is low. She was kept tied out!!!!!! And no vet treatment which could have prevented her blindness.
:-'(

Baxter- cattle dog/terrier mix, he's a sweetheart from a MS shelter a few months after Katrina though we don't know if he's technically a Katrina dog. He's been with us 3 months but we can't find a home because he's dog aggressive. We're working on it and have contacted a trainer.

Minnie and Shiloh- puppies, came to us because the owners couldn't housebreak them so the landlord said they had to go. Poor dogs lived a pretty yucky life, smelled like a hoarder's house when I got them. Very cute but we have no idea what they are- I call 'em dachshund/springer/??? mixes because of personality and appearance but it's anyone's guess.

Reese, Mora, and Dunkin Oreos (Duncan)- kittens, came from a "collector's" house- basically an old man who fed them and kept them around without taking care of them. He passed away and we were given permission to take them in and get them adopted out.

Jinx- cockatiel. He was harrassing the dogs in his previous home and going to get himself turned into drumsticks if he didn't get somewhere safe. So he came here to stay.

I'm also caring for two of our dogs in the boarding kennel where I work, Milo and Nola. Milo is getting adopted this Saturday (yay!!!) and Nola has a home waiting in CT but we think she may have Cushings disease so we're waiting for a test.

You can see all of these guys on my website: www.starfishtothesea.org

Baby has been with us for two months. We knew she didn't have much quality of life but she had so many health issues- ear infections, conjunctivitis (and a really BAD infection at that!), weak hips, arthritis- that we couldn't make a judgement on whether or not it was appropriate to euthanize her. We wanted to give her a chance to be HEALTHY again. We did get the ears and eyes to clear up, she's regained some muscle in her legs, but unfortunately she just has no enjoyment left in life. We tried. At least she's healthy again and won't die suffering.

Jinx leaves my pets alone because we have a bird room That way he can free fly without the threat of being pounced on by the cats or dogs (since I've got setters and birds aren't a really great companion for them )
