Ok, so I come home to find I have over 200 emails of dogs needing transports, or dogs that are on deathrow that are needing to be pulled by rescues, and then I get this in one of my emails, and I'm not even half way done going through my emails. I am depressed, and don't even want to finish going through these emails for fear of what I will find next. :(

Charges are pending against an Afton man who allegedly ordered a pit bull dog to attack a group of children late Thursday afternoon, resulting in serious injuries to a 12-year-old boy.
Arrest warrants filed by Deputy Sheriff David Beverly said Dallas Wayne “Skid” Patrick, 33, of 55 Highland Park, Afton, was initially charged with allowing an animal to run at large and public intoxication.
Other charges are pending against Patrick, according to Deputy Beverly’s report.
The Sheriff’s Department report said witnesses told Deputy Beverly that Patrick unleashed a 19-month-old pit bull dog and ordered it to attack a group of six children, ages 7 to 12.
Five of the six children escaped, according to the report, but witnesses told Deputy Beverly that the dog caught 12-year-old Randy May, of Highland Park, as he attempted to climb a tree to flee the pit bull.
Dragged Boy Out Of Tree
The dog, according to the Sheriff’s Department, report dragged the boy out of the tree and inflicted serious bites to his right leg.
Photos taken by sheriff’s deputies of the injured boy revealed a large, jagged wound to his upper leg and what appeared to be a bite wound to his lower leg.
The Sheriff’s Department report indicated that the boy’s mother attempted unsuccessfully to get the dog away from the boy. Only after a man who was a neighbor intervened were the dog and the boy separated, according to the Sheriff’s Department report.
When Deputy Beverly reached the scene about 5:30 p.m. Thursday, according to his report, he found Randy May seated on the front porch of his residence and suffering from serious injuries to his right leg.
The boy, according to the Sheriff’s Department report, was transported by ambulance initially to Laughlin Memorial Hospital and then was transferred by ambulance to the Johnson City Medical Center.
The boy was listed in fair condition at the Johnson City Medical Center this morning, a hospital spokesman said.
Patrick was arrested at the scene and charged with allowing the pit bull to run at large and with public intoxication.
Patrick’s bond was set at $1,250. He was scheduled to make an initial appearance in General Sessions Court on Nov. 13.
The dog was taken into custody on Thursday evening by Greene County Animal Control officers.
