Oh geez, basically anyone putting out a can for any animal cause. I support my local shelters either with donations or supplies and our wildlife center. And, also I have sent in donations for a specific animal to receive emergency vet care at a shelter. On a national note, I support Morris Animal Foundation, more specifically colic in horses. Animals and Veterans is where I donate money to.

This is one of the most wonderful equine rescues I have come across: www.ac4h.com

I still believe Best Friends Animal Sanctuary is an awesome place, even if I disagree with their affiliation in Tammy Grimes' support.
www.bestfriends.org

I support my local animal shelter, Orphans of the Storm. Never have I met such dedicated, caring, kind people as those who voluntarily keep things running as smoothly as possible.
I took in two kittens I found in the middle of a busy highway and even though they were full, I was not turned away. I called them when a neighboring house a couple miles down the road from me had an entire litter of "free to good home" puppies running around loose and they said to bring them all in. The owner agreed to let me take them all and those puppies were then neutered and placed through screened homes, saving them from an unknown fate.
When my previous GSD passed away, I was met with sincere, caring support that I will never forget.

That website is awful and has an agenda that makes its own creator and supporters look like bad people, not the volunteers and supporters of best friends who theyre outright attacking. I do support Best Friends despite the crackpot website claims, and with all of the good that they do, I'll continue supporting them.

Here in Ohio, there are several animal advocate groups I support for dogs and other animals. I'm in a Mercy for Animals chapter, and I support Citizens for Humane Action as well as other local animal shelters and rescues in my area, including Columbus Dog Connection, Cat Welfare,Harlequin Haven and Great Dane Rescue, and Heartland Aussie Rescue(who helped adopt out an aussie mix pup I rescued). There are many others in my surrounding area too.

I have a question...
Mmy parents help at a shelter in Mexico. (not a mexican shelter, private ownership) It collects street dogs and alters them. rehabilitates and adopts them out. It is no kill, so money is always as issue.
I visit my parents in December and would like to donate my tips from now til december 24. The issue is i have to pay 6% on those tips unless they are cash and there is someone else who works there who may not want to do it. How do I ask for cash tips for myself only? And not sound like a scam? What would turn you away and what would catch your eye?

You can support whoever you want, I was just informing you of their shady character. I don't trust them, especially after the fiasco with Tammy Grimes. Best Friends is also trying to get legislatves to do mandatory spay/neuter on ALL dogs.( including show and competition dogs if I understood correctly) Just becareful of who you are supporting and sending your hard earned money too, that's all I'm saying.

I really don't give alot of credit to websites that are set up to bash someone else.
Sure I disagree about the entire Grimes situation and the resulting attempt to have a law passed that would enable any self-proclaimed rescuer to legally take whatever animal they want which I think is a joke and is why I ended my long standing donations to them. It's simple to me. I don't support what I don't believe in but I won't give them a bad name elsewhere when I think their work is making a legitimate difference. They saved thousands of animals during Katrina alone.

How about a National org. I want to start donating the small Google ads money this site makes to a National org. each month.
