Hi Everyone,

My dog has just been spayed and she is going through a false pregnancy. I was wondering if there would be any tips for dealing with a dog that is in this condition? Is there anything I can do to help her deal with this. Should I hide her toy that she see's as her puppy to help her get over it. Or should I just wait it out.

Don't take her puppy away how mean is that. She will cope in her own time. I have had several dogs go thru this and usually it doesn't take them very long couple weeks maybe. Just leave her be.

What about her milking situation? She leave stains here and there after sleeping. Any tips to help me deal with this mess?

there is nothing you can do but wait for her to dry up. The dogs i have had never had enough to leave any mess.

Do you think milking her would help? Or is this just a bad idea?

I would not milk her. Not being well versed in this area, I would think if you deplete the supply, the body would want to replenish.

Do not milk her. Just like in people as you may or may not know. If you don't use it you lose it. So it sitting in there is helping to dry her up.

We it does with muscles and lungs organs ect. Too bad it only works against us. lol.

The whole false pregnancy thing may be a little confusing if it where to happen to human females. lol

Unfortantely, it is best to just wait it out. Many dogs have false pregnacies. At least with her being spayed she won't go through it again
