I have two great "pitbulls" and one great chihuahua mix at home with our family which includes our 2 small kids. Six months ago our six month old pitbull rescue girl named Nina started climbing the fence. Now that she is big she can almost leap it in a single boud. It is only 4 feet and it came before our dogs did. We can't afford to build onto the fence. We tried the underground fence, tethering, and the hotwire electric line above the fenceline with a ground line 6 inches below it. Now Nina is having to be on a trolley when she wants to play outside. Bernie, our now 6 month old pup has jumped the fence a few times. But he mostly stays in the yard, Nina jumps every time she can. She gets along fine with our dogs and other dogs she knows as well as our cats. She is phenomenal with our children too. We all love her, she is a great girl. Bernie is more of the purebred staffie type, Nina is a rescue we can't really be sure how much APBT she is, she is thinner and leggier than Bernie. I am feeling forced to rehome Nina to keep her safe as she is not happy to stay indoors all the time like most typical pits are. I have posted in a few places and have a courtesy post on the rescue site on petfinder that I originally adopted her from, they don't have any available foster homes now either, I am asking for applications and home visits to deterr ill willed people. Do you know of any great places to post and ad or any great rescue associations that have foster homes available in Oregon? Nina is such a phenomenal dog, she deserves much better than to have to be on a trolley when she should be able to enjoy her outside time that she so craves. I would appreciate any advice...
