I wanted to share what I learned. This may help some especially with dalmations. I don't think this information is widely known.
As the result of a customers question and subsequent research we have learned that purines and the inability of some breeds to break them down are a major cause for urinary problems, struvite crystals. It appears that all meats have purines but chicken and turkey are lowest, beef is highest. So all other things being equal I would lean towards a Turkey and chicken diet especially if I had a dalmation. That said I realize that these two protien sources are not appropriate for all dogs.
