Advertisements - Dog Forums

I was just wondering what discussdogs policy is on people advertising their company on this website?? IMO, I think it's kind of tacky since we are here to discuss dogs, and not see people trying to advertise their company. Now, if they want to put that on their personal page, that's fine. I just don't think it should be on a thread. Just my opinion.

I don't like to see it in a thread at all either. Perhaps if we has a section dedicated to dog services or advertisements. Maybe that is a good idea...

The other forums that I belong to require you to at least be a contributing member having at least so many posts (so you don't just create an account for the advertising) and it has to be posted in a specific area, otherwise you get banned and your post deleted.

Can you give me an example of exactly what type of advertising you are referring to?

In General Dog Discussion, the thread is called, ' Affordable Custom Dog Art' ; in Grooming the thread is call, ' Professional Grooming Available'. I can't find the thread but a month ago or so, someone was advertising the GSD for stud. I'm just wondering if it's allowed is all... Please advise...

Advertising in your signature is fine. Posting your link in the Links section is fine. Starting threads in any other forum about your business, something you sell, basically anything vendor or $$ related is not allowed, it's spam, please click the 'Report Bad Post' Icon at the bottom right of the post so we can delete it.

Thank you for clearing it up... Glad to know... Maybe consider making this a sticky so new members will know where to post if they want to advertise their business.
