Like a good debate?

There have been a few debates posted recently that had some strong feelings from both sides. How does everyone else feel about such debates?

I personally love the debates as long as both sides remain respectful. I think it is a learning experience as well and allows us to see through another's perspective.

I love it, hence the law school!

I always have loved debate, the point of view you get from both sides are often educational and interesting. As long as debating parties have an open mind and are respectful of others opinions, then debates are an awesome thing!

Absolutely- I've gotten into debates with people in the past who take to slinging mud and calling names and so forth- you can disagree and even argue all you want, but I lose all respect for someone once they start calling me an idiot for voicing my opinion. I don't do it to anyone else and I expect the same, otherwise I'll devote my time elsewhere!

I love it. Educated people on both sides of the fence open everyone's eyes.

I don't know if it is just this forum or what, but any other forum I have ever been a member of, I always bail on because I can't stand the immaturity.

This forum is awesome though! Nicer, more informed, MATURE people!

it took a while for it to get this way... we've had some real prize winners in here, lemmie tell ya. I don't know why or how I kept posting through all of it, but it's much better now. Most people who don't know what they're talking about but keep talking anyhow can't stand being proved wrong at every turn so they'll leave if you keep on top of them.

lol... I love a good debate, as long as everyone is respectful of people's opinions. We all come from different walks of life, so have different experiences, opinions, way of thinkings, etc. I think a good debate is healthy, and it normally gives you a insight on something you may never have thought of or considered.

I love a good debate. Sometimes I get involved, but alot of times I enjoy just following the posts. Great way to get alot of good opinions, and as long as we remember "if you can't say anything nice..."
