Ok, so it's not a joke but I didn't know where else it fit. I liked it. :)

JUST A DOG

From time to time, people tell me, "lighten up, it's just a dog," or,
"that's a lot of money for just a dog." They don't understand the
distance traveled, the time spent, or the costs involved for "just a
dog."

Some of my proudest moments have come about with "just a dog." Many
hours have passed and my only company was "just a dog,"
but I did not once feel
slighted.

Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by "just a dog," and
in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of "just a dog" gave me
comfort and reason to overcome the day.

If you, too, think it's "just a dog," then you will probably understand
phrasesike "just a friend," "just a sunrise," or "just a promise."

"Just a dog" brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust,
and pure unbridled joy.

"Just a dog" brings out the compassion and patience that makes me a
better person.

Because of "just a dog", I will rise early, take long walks and look
longingly to the future. So for me and folks like me, it's not "just a
dog" but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future, the fond
memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment.

"Just a dog" brings out what's good in me and diverts my thoughts away
from myself and the worries of the day.

I hope that someday they can understand that it's not "just a dog", but
the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being "just a man or
woman." So the next time you hear the phrase "just a dog", just smile --
because they "just don't understand."

lol- I'm staying out of it as much as I can. My opinion is strong and I don't like coming off like a jerk. Bottom line is that we all love our dogs.

Did you write that yourself?

Here is one I found in my old files, lol.

As a pup, I didn稚 know any better than to pee on the rug. After all, I知 just a dog.
As a pup, I didn稚 know any better than to chew up that favorite toy. After all, I知 just a dog.
As a pup, I didn稚 know any better than to jump excitedly all over you. After all, I知 just a dog.
As a pup, I didn稚 know any better than to tug so hard on that leash. After all, I知 just a dog.
As a pup, I couldn稚 stop loving you. After all, I知 just a dog.
As a pup, I felt so lost when you left me. After all, I知 just a dog.
As a pup, I always forgave you when you wronged me. After all, I知 just a dog.
As a pup, I was so happy to have faith in me again. After all, I知 just a dog.
As a pup, I loved you fiercely. After all, I知 just a dog.
As a pup, I remained loyal and so tolerant of your every mood. After all, I知 just a dog.
As a pup, I selfishly would give my own life to save yours. After all, I知 just a dog.
As a pup, I stayed beside you and comforted you. After all, I知 just a dog.
As a pup, I grew old alongside you. After all, I知 just a dog.
As a pup, I stayed always in your heart and yours in mine. After all, I知 just a dog.
As a pup, I knew you understood. After all, God spelled backwards is Dog.

Debates are often backed strongly by personal opinions. I think as long as everyone remarks intelligently without insulting others that a good debate is always interesting. Sometimes you are disheartened to find someone disagrees with you and you just do not understand their logic but it is still a learning experience.

Agreed. We all have different opinions, but it comes down to loving our animals, no matter what!

I get to learn about all different points of view and perhaps think of things in a different way, always a good thing to have an open mind!

That was very inspiring. I feel just the same as you do. I'm sure most of us here can relate, I mean, after all... we are here on a DOG forum... talking about dogs like nothing else matters! =] It's amazing how much our dogs can take away the pains of this world with just a simple wag of their tail.
